The fileeeBox competition has recently ended and the lucky winners have been notified. As promised, there is now also an update on the current status of the box:
One question that is burning under the nails of many is, of course, "When will the fileeeBox be available for purchase?" First of all: We have received so many pre-registrations and positive feedback that we will definitely (be able to) have the box produced. If you haven't pre-registered yet, you can do so here and secure yourself a box from the first production batch.
Our aim is to deliver a really perfect product and we still need a little time for the final touches. Yesterday, we already ordered a small number of boxes with which we will carry out final adjustments and tests. The focus here is on the general usability of the box and especially on the interaction between the fileeeBox and our apps. In addition, we will subject our boxes to an intensive stress test to make sure that the components (e.g. magnets, LEDs) are durable and safe.
To simplify the use of the scan attachment even more, we are currently also testing "fixers" for the smartphone. The fixators are intended to help you always find the perfect position for your smartphone. Once you have found the perfect scanning position, the fixators are stuck on to fit your smartphone. At the same time, the fixers are supposed to ensure that the smartphone does not shift on the scan attachment during scanning and that the smartphone is protected from falling down. If you now buy a new smartphone, of course you also have to renew the fixers. We therefore try out different materials and test whether the fixers can be removed without leaving a trace. In addition, the height of the fixers must fit as many smartphones as possible. Our favourites are currently made of felt with self-adhesive foil and are cut out by laser.
To ensure that everything runs smoothly in the subsequent series production, we will also test the production processes and the packaging of the fileeeBoxes. This includes, for example, the type of packaging, the shipping method and the shipping costs. At the same time, we are finalising the accompanying material (including instructions and stickers for labelling the boxes).
If there are no more major problems, we think that the final testing phase will be completed by the end of June and the first batch will go into production in July.
In the last few weeks we have received many questions about the fileeeBox. Here we have listed the most frequently asked questions and answers. If your question is not included, just post it in the comments and we will add the answers here.
