Due to the obligation to issue receipts introduced in 2020, retailers have to issue a receipt or till receipt. We as customers still do not have to accept these, but this creates a lot of avoidable waste. Those who would like to say goodbye to the crumpled receipts in their wallets and at the same time do something for the environment can now access the sustainable and digital variants of anybill and epap.
Since we have also been fighting paperwork for a long time and would like to do without paper in the long term, we have sat down with epap and anybill and integrated them into our fileee app as of today. This way, you can not only digitise your receipts, but also save them directly, sort them and share them with your tax advisor in your fileeeSpace. This way you can keep track of your expenses and never lose important receipts again.
anybill and ePap are both apps with which you can digitise already printed receipts, but also receive them digitally at the checkout. To do this, simply hold the QR code contained in the app over the scanner and the cash register will automatically recognise which app it is and in the next step you will have the receipt digitally in the app. Check out anybill and epap to see which shops and POS systems are already participating.
The two integrations do not simply save paper, but in particular the environmentally harmful thermal paper, which now does not even have to be dismantled. anybill and epap even go one step further. Both apps are committed to environmental protection.
With anybill, "for saved receipts (...) trees are planted worldwide together with the Trillion Tree Campaign". In addition, you can track your own activity via the tree tracker in the app. epap donates part of the turnover directly to the reforestation of the rainforest. And you, the user, choose your favourite project where the money should go.
As soon as you have downloaded the app from the App Store or Google Playstore, you can start right away and create an account. You will then find fileee under "More" and "Other features". Here you can click directly on "Link account". Then enter your fileee data and you are linked. From now on, you can upload every receipt that you scan with anybill directly to fileee and have everything at a glance. At the same time, anybill has integrated other features into the app, such as the expense manager or the warranty tracker.
You can also download epap directly from the App Store or Google Play Store. You can use the app as a guest account with a registration or without entering an email address. You will find "Links" under your profile and fileee directly behind it. Under "Connect" you will be redirected to your fileee login and complete the link here. Then you can start right away and forward all your receipts from epap to fileee. In addition to your digital receipts, epap offers you an integrated budget book.
Here is a small calculation from us to show how sustainable a digital filing system can be: According to a ZDF report, the average German uses about 3,000m2 of paper per year. This includes letters, contracts, cardboard boxes and, since the beginning of 2020, also till receipts. At fileee, we process 1,500,000 documents per year that our users upload and thus save 7,922.5 kg of CO2.Here is a comparison: as the online portal CO2-Online reports, an average car powered by petrol emits approx. 2.35 kg of CO2 per 100 kilometres. If you add up the CO2 savings of fileee, you could drive about 43,200 km with a regular petrol car. You could drive 1 time around the world or 3 times the distance from Berlin to Sydney by car.For 2020, these figures will probably increase. The German government has decided to make receipts compulsory, which means that you have to get a receipt even for a single roll at your favourite bakery. epap and anybill tackled this problem early on and developed a solution that allows you to digitise your receipts quickly and easily without using a single cm2 of paper.
