We regularly receive feedback from our users on how we can improve fileee even further. In the course of developing the team feature, we were able to incorporate many of these ideas into the modernisation of the web app. You can read about the new functions and improvements in the blog article.
"In the course of developing the team features, now was the perfect time to give our fileee web app a fresh-up. We implemented the new features in less than 6 weeks," says Alina Bolinski, who has been the new Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) at fileee since the end of 2020. Together with our design and development teams, she was involved in developing the new design and implementing the new features. "The biggest innovation is that we have a new selection mode in the document library. You can see directly at a glance what the document is about and have all the metadata right at your fingertips," says Alina. In addition to a preview of the document, the sender, date, document type and important metadata are already displayed here, so that in many cases the document no longer needs to be opened.
"We've also added a lot of smaller features that users have been asking for. For example, you can now also search and sort tags." Especially users who use fileee a lot in everyday life have often wished for this function." In Messages and Spaces, we have introduced a new sorting system. So documents can now be sorted alphabetically and by the last update." Also, with the list view and the large tile view, two new display options have been introduced for the document view.
The settings have also been completely redesigned. They are now much clearer, so that many setting options are easier and more intuitive to find. In addition, you can now upload a profile picture that is displayed in communication with other users, e.g. via Spaces.
In the future, we will continue to update the web app and thus implement new ideas and user requests. "We are currently already working on a multi-edit mode, which will allow you to edit several documents at once in the future, for example to add tags." According to Alina, this is a feature that many users have wanted for a long time. "We will update the detailed designs for the document and contact view in the near future." Of course, we will also introduce the new design in our mobile apps. "We have now added features with the web app that were not previously available in the desktop version. Later this year, we will also modernise the look and feel of the mobile apps." But here, too, we will soon be fundamentally updating an important core function and making many improvements.
